Bonjour!
Oh, how much I've missed you!
I've just returned from a trip to my home country that has profoundly changed my life, and I've been trying to find the right words to accurately share it with you. Newsletter issue by newsletter issue we'll get there.
My first wonderful, warm month was spent on the northeastern coast, in the state of Alagoas, where my mom now enjoys her retirement.
The second was spent in the Amazon, my homeland, where I had the privilege of returning to the place where I grew up for the very first time in many years. It was an incredibly emotional experience, but you know me well enough by now not to count my tears (there are too many).
I also devoted a lot of time to writing projects that I hope to share more about soon and did a TV show for a Brazilian network, which is quite insane, isn't it?
You can watch the trailer here. I'm afraid you'll need a phone screen to experience it the way it was designed, but I promise it's worth it.
And I ate too many good things.
Research, right? I guess I'm allowed to call my habit of eating amazing food around the world research. Damned if I don't.
There's much more coming to this newsletter, as there used to be, now that I'm back home in California. I love knowing that you're still here, and I thank you for your patience while I battled gigantic Amazonian mosquitoes (you wouldn't believe it!)—all in the name of gastronomy.
I leave you with photos I took along the way thinking you'd like to see them. I like to call them postcards from Brasil.

Merci,
Top da galáxia! 👌👏👏👏
